Well, this has been an interesting past couple of weeks for my family and I, to say the least. Let's just say God is continuing to lead us on a remarkable journey which we would never have planned but which I would never trade for anything in the world (pardon the cliche).
Yesterday was our last Sunday at our church as the pastor's family, and within two weeks we will be living elsewhere and looking for a new church home. Again.
It's not something I relish; nevertheless, it is actually somewhat exciting . More and more of life becomes exciting when you know that God is in control and writing an amazing story using every detail of your life.
Today was full with seeking God and trying to understand, recording all the events of yesterday in my journal, visiting with a neighbor family who stopped by to invite us to their son's baptism, eating grilled cheese sandwiches, packing, packing, and more packing.
Then I went under the house to find some boxes for my knickknacks and found a water problem. One of the pipes had a leak. But everything within range of the leak was in plastic tubs - no cardboard boxes and therefore no permanent damage! Now isn't that a coincidence?
One of my very old dolls, a gift from my grandmother, started dropping body parts everywhere and I thought she was probably irreparable. But my mom showed me how to run a new rubber band through her arms and head so that she's actually in better shape now than she's been in for years. Maybe decades, to tell the truth! ;)
We're going through a stressful time right now, and we're all worried about our church and wondering about the future. But God is in control, His way is perfect, and all will be well. Isn't God good?
